Process FAQs

What is your website process? What can I expect during the building phase?

Website Production

We communicate via phone, email or in person to decide your needs for the project. We dive into your industry, and figure out where you fit best. We send you our questionnaires and pricing information so that we can get on the same page as far as design, budget, and project requirements. We will collect a 50% deposit and sign a contract for the work at this point.

Style Selection

In this step we will propose the overall look and layout for the project. We’ll work with you to determine what goes where to create the look you’re after while also incorporating all of the features, functionality, colors, fonts, and anything else that are to be included on the site.

Design

We take all of the information you have provided so far and begin building the site and collecting images and content. We will work together until everything is how you want it.

Development

Once we get the look where we want it, we will collect a 25% “halfway” payment, and then get started on the development of the website. We get started on the invisible back-end of the site to add functionality to the site. We will also be working on product uploading, setting up payment methods, shipping settings, adding images, custom graphics and other features to make the site your own.

Revisions & Testing

Testing and review phase. We will test and troubleshoot the various features and functions of the site, as well as fine-tune the overall design.

Final Product

We launch your new site, setup a time to train you on the updating software, and collect the final 25% payment.

Will my old website be down when the new one is being worked on?

No. There may be a few minutes of downtime during the actual launch of the new site, but your old site remains active the whole time we are building your new one.

What platform do you build your websites on?

We build our websites on the WordPress CMS. We have become expert on this platform and can create stunning websites with all the functionality you need. We also love this platform because it allows non-technical people to update content, add images, add videos, reorganize information, and more. We utilize the best back end builder there is and train you how to do most updates yourself!

Who will I work with during the project?

Some larger companies outsource work on projects or limit access to the design and development team. With our company, you will work directly with us. We answer the phones, write the emails, and visit you in person.

How long does the process take?

Websites generally take us 60-120 days to complete, from contract signing and deposit to launch. SEO is an on-going process. You can expect to see results within three to six months. (For SEO, we require a minimum 12-month commitment because of the cost of up-front work, and the need to monitor and adjust SEO over time. Twelve-months is optimal for SEO, when you will see year-over-year growth in search impressions.)

How does the whole process work?

We go through several steps in our process. We have a whole page dedicated to explaining our process.

Services FAQs

Will I be able to update my website or do I need to pay a developer?

We build our websites on the WordPress CMS to allow non-technical people the ability to change content, images, video, and much more.

Some technical changes such as working with the actual code may come up and you will need someone with that knowledge to apply the changes, but these cases are very rare in our experience. When we build you a website, we train you on how to update everything you want to update.

What is SEO?

SEO is Search Engine Optimization. Basically it is about getting your website found. Google has over 300 different criteria for ranking websites. We utilize as many of these tactics as possible to help boost your rankings on search engines. Most consumers never go past the first page of Google, meaning you want to be in the top 10 results of your chosen keywords. Our SEO experts work diligently to get you there.

Do I own my website?

YES. All work done by LGD and paid for in-full, according to the terms of our contract, is 100% owned by you. Our clients love us and don’t want to go elsewhere, but if for some reason you decide you need a change, you will own everything and have all login and password information.

Can you help me source photos for my website?

YES. We work with you on your needs and budget and determine if the best solution for you is free images, stock images, or custom photography and video. We can provide all options, including our own custom photography and video services.

Can you help me write content for my website?

Absolutely! Paul is a content master and would love to help you craft your words. We offer copywriting services not just for websites, but also newsletters, e-blasts, marketing materials, and more.

Can you help me update my existing website that another web firm built?

The short answer is yes. However, we do not recommend this option, because there is always the possibility that something could go wrong down the road and we do not want to be responsible for the work of others. We have done this for some clients who were looking for a temporary solution or were on a limited budget. We are looking to help in any way we can, so if this is the only option, we will.

What kind of businesses do you work with?

We work with a broad range of companies, including, but not limited to small start-ups, large corporations, nonprofits, B2B, & B2C. We specialize in:

  • Legal & Medical Industries
  • Construction Industries
  • Food & Beverage Industries (restaurants, bars, food products, etc)
  • Healthy Living Industries (yoga, massage, healthcare, healthy products, organic products, natural products, etc)
  • Sports Websites (athletes, athletic products, sports agents, sports teams, etc)

We’ve helped many businesses build their brand, online presence, and attract new customers. Contact us today to see if we’re a good fit for your business.

How long have you been in business?

Owner Matt Stewart began designing print materials in 1999. He added website design and development in 2008. little guy design was founded in 2010, and when Paul Eide joined the team a year later, we began offering most of our other services. We rebranded to little guy branding company OR lgx, in May 2021.

Miscellaneous FAQs

What is your refund policy?

We do not offer refunds. For website work, we collect payment in three installments. We have had companies have to cancel work for extenuating circumstances, but all payment collected is non-refundable.

Where are you located?

Our main offices are located in Omaha, Nebraska. We have a second location on Oceanside, California.

Our business, however, allows for us to work for clients all over the world, as most of our business is done digitally. We have clients all over the country.

We also work remotely, which allows us to keep our overhead low and offer our clients affordable prices. We can meet you at your office, home or a coffee shop when we talk in person.

Another company says they can build us a website for $600, why shouldn’t we choose them?

You get what you pay for. Many of these companies will give you very little control or input on the design process. They will generally use a generic template for your site. Many of these companies suck you in with the low price and then end up charging you a monthly fee, updating fees, and you don’t own your website when it’s all said and done. Be very wary of the “$600 website”.

We have had many clients come to us after using a company like this.

A consultation with LGD is always free and we just might be able to prevent you from wasting time and money.

Why should we choose lgx for our project?

Here are a few reasons:

  • We build strong, beautiful websites.
  • We are highly skilled at SEO.
  • We are friendly.
  • We offer a 30 day guarantee on our work.
  • We’re affordable.
  • We have experience and are highly knowledgeable about the services we provide.

Will my website look good on mobile devices?

YES. We build all of our websites to be mobile-friendly. Since April 2015, Google has penalized websites in search results if they are not mobile friendly, and we build all of our websites with SEO in mind.

What’s with the name?

Owner and founder Matt Stewart came up with the name for two reasons: he is 5’6″ tall and our target clients we like to help are small and medium sized businesses.

I have more questions, can I call you?

Absolutely! Our phone number is 402.882.1133. Call us at any time. You can also fill out our contact form and we will be in touch ASAP.

We do prefer email contact during the project so that we can keep track of everything that transpires during the course or our work together.
